Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God. The next is to love our neighbors as ourselves. Loving Myself... Loving Me... for many of us, they are only words. Our childhoods are marked by hurtful words and the painful actions of significant others that have formed the adults that we have become today. Day in and day out we long to be told that we're okay and that we are lovable. When we look in the mirror, we see disappointment, and for many of us, shame. Love ourselves? Where do we begin? Is that even a biblical concept? Does it really make that big a difference? Over the next number of weeks, we are going to journey down this road of healing... learning to value ourselves, the way Jesus intended.
